It’s that time of year again…and I couldn’t be more excited.  A time for pulling out the fold-out chairs, getting up early, enjoying the sunshine, and sitting back watching, cheering, and supporting my kids as they play softball and baseball.  I’ve enjoyed this past time for many years now and can’t help but think of this organized chaos as one of my very favorite times of the year.  It all started last Saturday as we enjoyed opening day.  Raegan had one of the only two hits of her team and did a great job playing 1st base and getting 3 other girls out.  Logan held his own as he played 3rd base and did a great job batting.  I’m so very proud of them both.

 Today was another exciting day.  We had 3 games total.  Logan played first.  I was so proud of him.  He has done so much improving over the past couple of seasons.  When he gets a piece of the ball, he sends it flying.  I really enjoy watching him play 3rd base too.  He gets into that baseball stance of his and is so aware of what’s going on around him.  His second game…he did even better.  He hit 2 doubles.  I missed the first hit because I was finishing up watching Raegan’s game but his Aunt Holly told me how wonderful he did.  He also played catcher on his second game.  He played catcher last year as well and does a really good job in that position.

Raegan had a great game today and her team have really improved since their first game.  Raegan had a great hit and once again played 1st base. Unfortunately, she got hit in the face by a ball and got a good size knot along her brow bone but it only had her down for a minute.  She popped right back up and continued the game like nothing had even happened.  I think it’s time we got her a face guard.  🙂

Today, I watched my beautiful, smart, sensitive, and responsible young sweetheart walk up to the front of the gym to receive her Cardinal Pride Award.  I can’t imagine many people that deserve it more.  She was quite surprised…as I did my best to make up a believable reason for my presence in her school gym this morning.  My sweet girl always does her best to follow the rules, show respect for others, lend a helping hand when needed, encourage the accomplishment of others, and as well, she puts forth a great effort to meet her own goals and accomplishments.  She is most definitely one of my star students and this Momma couldn’t be more proud..

I woke up this morning with one person on my mind.  My birthday boy.  41 years ago his sweet parents welcomed him into this world and today…I feel overwhelmed with the many blessings that he has given me and my children.  He shows me love, respect, adoration, and support like I have never known.  He truly is an amazing man.

I met my sweetie on August 1, 2009 through the advancement of social media and through the intuition of my sweet brother-in-law that just knew we would fit perfectly together…and oh…how right he was.  My sweetie drove a 5-6 hour round trip drive just to take me on our very first date.  I remember the moment I saw him pull up into my driveway and step out of his truck.  I was peaking through my garage window and when I laid eyes upon him my heart literally skipped a beat.  I mean look at his pictures…seriously?!  😉

That day was just the beginning of many, many blessings that he would bring to me and my family. This man…this wonderful, wonderful man…what all can I say about him?  He is so kind, gentle by nature, loving beyond measure, responsible, and hard-working.  He is such a loving father and wants the very best for his children.  He would do anything to make their life great.  He is a wonderful bonus Dad as well, and gives my children care, support, and direction…as well as being very adoring, loving, and attentive to their needs.  He has a crazy and funny sense of humor.  He makes people laugh.  Children love and adore him…and flock to him when he is around.  He is ambitious with his work, works hard at everything that he does, and knows a little something about most everything.  He has a quiet strength that is unfaltering and loves beyond boundaries.  He is the epitome of  excellence.

What I want for his future?  I hope that he will always feel loved…always feel appreciated…and always know how needed that he is.  I hope that he feels happiness in everything that he does, realizes often how much he enriches the life of others, and above all else…I hope he always feels peace.

Eleven years ago today, I welcomed one of the most important people that I would ever meet into my life.  My sweet, sweet bundle of joy arrived at 3:03PM.  She weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds and 6 ounces and was 21 inches long.  In all actuality, she wasn’t very big at all..but she was plenty big enough to win over her Mommy’s heart and change my life in ways that only a woman that has made the journey into motherhood could possibly understand.  My daughter…my daughter that never ceases to be miraculous..full of beauty and forever beautiful…loving, caring, and truly amazing.  She is all things good…and all things wonderful.

What do I see when I look into her eyes? Well, I see everything.  She is absolutely everything that I could possibly imagine having in a daughter.  She has a gorgeous and mischievous smile, big beautiful hazel eyes, lovely long blonde hair.  She has a kind spirit and is what I call an “old soul”.  She can look at a person and see deep within them.  She sees the wants and needs of others.  She will stand up for what she knows is right and she’s not easily swayed.  She is spunky….yet stubborn, competitive by nature, and in many ways a leader.  She likes attention…especially from family and close friends.  She is most certainly an entertainer…and a lover of the arts.  She enjoys many wonderful activities ranging from sports to writing music to film-making.  She loves to draw and make her own designs.  She excels in school…always working hard to make the best grades that she can make.  Her ambition at 11 amazes me.  Her strength is unmatchable.  She is…well she is who she is.  A miraculous, extraordinary, and amazing person that has a future of only the brightest opportunities ahead of her.

What do I hope for her future?  I want her to wake up each and every day with the excitement of facing a new day and new challenges.  I want her to have confidence in herself and to never doubt herself even for a moment.  I want her to look at the world around her and to breathe it all in…often.  I don’t want her to let life pass her by without appreciating each and every new experience that she faces.  I want her never to “sweat the small stuff”.  Life is too short.  I want her to always feel peace, and always know that she is “worth it”.  There are so many things that I want for my girl but most of all I want her to always be happy…always feel loved…and always know that her Momma loves her as much as the whole sky, moon, and stars…and then some more after that.

My very first blog post…so where should I begin?  First, let’s start with the name.  “This Crazy Happy Love”….ahhhh how much closer can one come to describing my life?  I’m exuberantly happy.  Really…I am…but yes the “crazy” does come in to play at times too.  Would I change it?  Nah…well maybe a few things…but overall my life is where it’s supposed to be.  Crazy…happy…and love plays a major role too.

I have 3 amazing kids…and yes when I say amazing that’s exactly what I mean.  They truly are.  I also have a fantastic man that I completely adore.  Between those 4 darlings, I am complete.  They enrich my life in more ways than one person should be allowed to be enriched.  I am truly blessed.  I know that.  I feel that.  I can even breathe that with every breath that I take.  My cup runneth over…in this crazy happy love.
